>>44924194This is Satoshi Tajiri's team that he chose to clear his first run of Gen 1. I find it curious that he chose *not* to use Poliwrath, despite Poliwhirl being his favorite Pokemon. Maybe Satoshi Tajiri didn't like Poliwhirl until *after* he cleared through the game with this team, or maybe he deliberately chose *not* to use Poliwhirl so he can be open-minded and pick Pokemon outside of his favorites. He may love certain Pokemon more now because he has taken the time to properly understand them, or at least making an attempt to. I love many more Pokemon species now because I can at least understand where they are coming from. For example, Whismur or Snubbull. They have "monster-like" appearances and are "intimidating" in the exterior. They can scare people, but deep down they are timid and scared. I always had a special place in my heart for Snubbull, as I didn't like how people thought that Ursaring "outclassed" Granbull. I loved the Snubbull in the anime and first movie, and I love how Granbull is a Pokemon that was Normal-type once and "reborn" into a Fairy-type Pokemon. It gives me hope that maybe one day Whismur might get a type change too, or it might get a regional form of a type change. Maybe "Sound" is in the corner at some point, and certain Pokemon like Whismur, Meloetta, Jigglypuff, and Kricketot can be part-Sound type. That might be an interesting gimmick for a future gen.
