>>44925049Think of it this way. There are non-binary Pokemon or genderfluid Pokemon. You have female Machamp, male Delphox, and male Gardevoir. They may not be transgender, or they might be. You never know. But at least, the LGBTQ+ community can take solace in the fact that there *are* Pokemon out there that objectively speaking you can resonate with. A male Mega Gardevoir may be transgender, or genderfluid, or a crossdresser, or two-spirit, or whatever else. As long as you believe that this Pokemon represents something to you and they matter to you, so be it.
Think of it this way: Starter Pokemon are intentionally given this gender ratio on purpose. These Pokemon can breed, and that may be the objective truth. But subjectively, they are meant to be inclusive towards the "rainbow" parts of the Pokemon spectrum, both in universe and out.
Everyone wants to be part of the rainbow. Nobody should be made to feel like they don't belong in a rainbow.
