>>44926364I think that all of us, in many aspects, are kids at heart. There are adults who love whatever they loved as children, and then there are adults who turned away from that. I feel that an adult who truly loves and treasures everything they loved as a child is a happier adult than an adult who gave that up to be "cool." I'm a nerd. I'm a geek. So what? We're all nerds and geeks. People who watch NFL or NBA can be considered nerds and geeks if *they* were the minority or the losers of society.
Every person has a tribe and a place to call their own. Don't surround yourself with the people who don't love and understand the things that you do. Don't hate them, either. They're not worth it. Let it go. Let all of that toxic energy go. Please, OP. Continue being you. If the world points one finger at you and laughs, remember something important. They're pointing 3 fingers back at them, and they are smiling and laughing. You being you is making *them* happy. They're happy and they're laughing and they're having fun. You can choose to perceive that as mockery, or you can say, "Good for them! I'm making a positive difference in the world!"
Everyone wants to be loved and treasured. You will always love yourself, no matter what. Even in the darkest of times, you will never compromise on yourself. Even if you give certain things up, you will do so because you love yourself far more.
