>>44933034Let me explain the difference.
When I used to fight gym leader, I’d lose. I made a team of type advantaged mons and won by a landslide, but that was ‘t fun. Making a team of counters isn’t fucking fun to anyone. From this, I made a team of mons I’d actually play through pokemon with. Pokemon that I enjoy using. I rechallenged Gym Leader after EV training them And thinking of strategies, and barely won. It felt great, and I entered every gym. Every single new type was a new challenge, what do do with what mons, but still able to succeed with my team if I kept at it.
Now being a gym leader is based solely on winning your monotype challenge. It’s no longer fun, it’s a serious competitive match. Praying for flinches and stone edge to crit.
>>44933016No, it doesn’t. You need it to have a mix of both. But you weren’t the intended audience of the gym challenge. I remember when the Gym Leader teams stopped being what they were and became healing and status stall teams, and when I asked why the answer was “To beat matthew lol.”
