I got 600 hours out of it so far. This is the first game where playing competitive is actually fun.

Yikes. If you actually care about competitive you'll inject your mons like everyone else that cares about competitive. Breeding and teambuilding in-game was always just a thing that some people enjoyed and others bitched about.

I’ve played all the generations in order as they came out.

>gen 1-3 has no online
>gen 4 has no matchmaking and building a team takes forever because QoL is dogshit including shit like one use TMs
>gen 5 has matchmaking but it’s fucking barebones and building a team takes forever because QoL is still shit
>gen 6 is vastly improved over gen 5 but IVs are still fucking annoying and megashit ruins the game
>gen 7 tries to fix IVs but ruins it with a lv100 requirement that takes forever to get, also because there are so many legendaries and UBs the meta is already centralized cancer the second the game came out

Meanwhile, in gen 8
>you can level a pokemon to 100 and hyper train them within seconds
>egg moves are passable so you dont need to rebreed shit
>vitamins don’t have the retarded 100 cap anymore so EV training also takes seconds
>move relearner gives you literally everything the pokemon has access to including pre-evo moves without having to grind heart scales like a retard
>dynamax actually unironically increases the skill ceiling of the game instead of just being garbage special snowflake held items
>charizard, butterfree, durant, etc become viable because the game isn’t filled with power crept shit
