Even Pokéball tier Doubles players are competent, can't say the same about low ladder Smogon players. Even 3v3 singles takes more skill than playing Smogon. Prediction and type coverage are huge there, you don't get to bring all 6 mons to have a super balanced team and switch out every time something unfavourable happens.
