I would love to, but its difficult to try and transfer my knowledge of singles and completely relearn the game in a different format. But I would love to actually play on my Switch for once

For me, it's not that daunting imo as long as you already know basic Pokemon. Just watch and try stuff to get a feel for the different dynamics involved. Copy a team or two.
