They still need a spot for the Mythical in 2022 and the base game only has one free spot left in the code. They also need a game for November 2021. Yoou can think that, but it's on the way regardless (shit, if they do Let's Go 2 Johto too it guarantees they can launch Gen X in 2026, right on the anniversary to boot).

So now that Sword & Shield (and by extention Gen 8) is shit, what did we think of it.
I thought it was okay. Wish I could have enjoyed the pre-DLC meta a bit more.

If they actually cut Gen 8 short for no good reason and rush into Gen 9 after they were already ill prepared for 8 and after Covid ruined everything, then I'm officially done with the series. Not fucking playing around this time. If there's a trailer for a new generation one second before 00:00 January 1st 2022 Tokyo time then that is the exact second I jump ship, no benefit of the doubt this time like SWSH got.

There won't be Sinnoh remakes, there is no point anymore. With legendaries being shit out every gen, nothing is special about the Gen 4 legendaries, removing a big part of the game, in fact, the entire story and the lore of sinnoh would be tainted because well you can just go catch them in gen 7 or sw/sh haha.

SworShie are objectively worse than their predecessors, both in terms of maingame, postgame and pricing. The only thing I'm willing to cut some slack for is that they have streamlined the meta, although even that is going to be slandered with the introduction of legendaries and UBs, making the dex cut out of """"balancing reasons"""" even more pointless, disregarding that they could just have banned the unwanted Pokémon from ranked battles.
