"Best story in a Pokemon game" is the equivalent of being the tallest footstool. They are still dreadful, and would become even more absurdly embarrasing when put in an anime form with no distraction from how bad they are.

After seeing this and that twilight wings thing, I'm genuinely convinced that if Pokémon put the effort into making a 13 or 25 episode anime just on one game a la Persona 4 Animation we'd get some animation kino. Believe me, I doubt the story would be off, but the sakuga would be out of this world.
