Why do so many gen 8 designs feel slightly (or massively, in some cases) off? like they could've been really cool and complete designs had they just spent 5 more mins on the drawing board. The games are unpolished as well and were pretty obviously rushed, could the same have been the case for the pokemon themselves? I think it was Turner who said in an interview that for this gen they changed the design philosophy. Earlier one person would come up with a pokemon based on certain expectations and the whole board would work on every pokemon, refining it, but now they split into smaller groups when designing them.
Take rapidash for instance, it's very bland and boring to look at. I've seen some fan fixes that make it look much more appealing.
Do gf really don't care anymore?
