>>44982353No, because it's limiting Pokemon's sales potential.
GO is a juggernaut but could have been much bigger if they didn't squander its release and potential so early on.
It's the same with SWSH, it sold comparatively better compared to other POKEMON games, being the first console game, but compared to other Switch games it flopped.
It sold millions less than a MK rehash and got outpaced by fucking Animal Crossing, a game that came out months afterwards.
On top of that, children literally can't keep up with all the subscriptions they're pumping out. SWSH alone requires the base game, NSO, Pokemon Home, AND Pokemon Bank to be comparable to the last games. Children don't have $90 more to pay in addition to the $60 they already spent to get mommy and daddy to buy the games for them.
They're milking manchildren and nothing more. The music video is proof that if they put effort into something, it would sell. They simply refuse to do so because they have no confidence in Nintendo or their own brand.
As a result, we are doomed to chinkshit and mobile spinoff hell. Ishihara is still headstrong that the series needs to go full mobile after Pokemon GO but keeps getting BTFO at every turn. Even Masters is a flop because they couldn't be assed to give it any more than fanservice as a selling point.
It's hard to believe it or see the signs because they're the most profitable franchise in the world, but from a business standpoint they are clearly struggling and that should be evident in the target audience shift alone. They need to go back to their roots and start making things that appeal to children.
