Pretty sure they're putting out physical copies to follow the policy that flagship titles have to have both physical and digital copies. There's no way there's a huge reliable market of people who buy the same game over and over just because there's a rerelease

These versions are for people without Internet connections (or Internet connections too poor to download GBs of data). I know that's a concept that now seems alien to us, but there are still plenty of people in that situation.

I suppose there will be a few hyper autists who will buy it because they need to have every game in their collection but that's not why Nintendo made it.

Japanese price confirms it costs as much as buying both the game and expansion pass. This is just for people that want a complete physical copy, there is no discount here unless stores apply there own. It'll probably be $80 at certain retailers like Walmart.

Regional pricing rather than a straight conversion. Will likely be priced at $90 to match the digital bundle that has the same content, unless discounted by a retailer. My local Walmart discounts all of their games by $10. So even if it is $90 here, I'll still be able to get it for $80.
