There's not much to talk about with the games because they're so same-y so threads usually peter out if they don't become a shitflinging gen war. The only time the games really got genuine non-shitty discussion was when it was hype + online stuff for the most recent game but SwSh burned this board so hard that few people actually want to do that. Purging the coomers won't fix anything, you can't make a board regain its passion. Really this board just needs to be deleted, we have a whole slew of new vidya boards that this userbase can move to now.

It might happen but I don't think so. This isn't 2010 anymore. The hype isn't what it used to be among older fans due to GF alienating them. Most of /vp/ only care about the video games and we have a bunch of new vidya boards to take them in. Even on /vp/ there's only like 1 or 2 ashnime threads a day and like 1 PokeSpe thread a month, they're not going to overrun /a/.

I have been banned for bumping another poster’s thread, since I made a lengthy inquiry on it that I needed feedback on. Like, not even just “bump”, I said something along the lines of “I hope one of you at least takes the time to answer my question” and that it wasn’t worth making an entire thread for it.

There's def been times where it was this bad, the interim between BW's release and XY's announcement comes to mind. Again it just shows how flimsy the justification for this board to exist is. At least back then they had the excuse of wanting to keep it out on /v/ but now we have like 6 different vidya boards.

A lot of threads get to bump limit when they're about pokemon designs, strategy, lore, gamedesign, etc.

The gameplay per se, the Pokemon designs, the music, the battles, the characters, the world itself and discussing more about it, trying different teams, customizing, etc. There's a lot to this franchise than just porn, even if you want to pretend not, and just because "new game bad" doesn't mean every single positive aspect about Pokemon suddenly ceased to exist.
