swsh dlc bundle price revealed

the pokemon singapore facebook page has revealed the price of the swsh dlc bundle as sgs129. When converted to USD it is 94+. However nintendo games in singapore are pricier than US price. So we can safely assume the US price is $90 so those who already bought the dlc via e-shop dont have to worry about paying more. Do note this is still ASSUMPTION based of the price of another country but it is a good estimate.

this bundle is so pointless. literally all you're getting out of it is some pokeballs. Even if I was late with buying the game I'd rather just buy it with the dlc separately so I can at least get the less ugly box art.

This is why I don't feel bad about piracy. I bought one legit cartridge of Sword, but have pirated the DLC and Shield. Only reason I bought a cartridge is so I can trade with my pirated Shield copy after patches. $60 for one gen ain't too bad

Nope, it will be roughly closer to $80 based on Yen to USD conversion and even then that's an extremely hard sell. More than likely they will compromise at $70 because while pokemon is popular in the states the demand this year will be for next-gen PS5 and Series X products. To compete against that they can't charge too much more than the next gen $70 rate or they will lower interest in the product during holiday season.

Nintendo will take a small hit, aim for $70 to compete and compell people to purchase it along with a new Switch for cheaper gaming experience relative to PS5/Series X.

they were talking about making new games 70 for the new console generation. but it doesnt take much to figure when people only buy 12 games a year new, to 9. if they raise the overall price of games. its time to just find a new hobby and just get the must have games every year.

They won't because they know $90 is way too high for an individually priced game (even with dlc content) . This is less about poorfag mindset and more about sheer competitiveness in the middle of a holiday season on the eve of next generation. It is extremely hard compell an adult let alone a parent to spend $90 on a game when everyone else is either cutting prices for games on old hardware or focusing on a new $70 pricing paradigm for PS5/SeriesX.

This entire $90 debate for the Pokemon Sword and Shield dlc bundle is based on the wishful idea that Nintendo is going to be "fair" to fans who spent the equivalent so far. And I'm telling you they won't be fair because it is 2020 not 2019. In 2019 Nintendo would probably get away with a $90 dlc bundle because there wasn't much else to compete with. In 2020 there's way more to compete with now. The US isn't Japan, Nintendo is on a more even playing field in the States and knows it can only get away with so much.

Two territories with a different market place than the states. In Japan (not sure about South Korea) Nintendo and Sony dominate the market and thus can set their own pricing rules because it's them or mobile gaming. In the US the market is divided by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft that alone changes the dynamic because Nintendo can't get away with as much as they could.

It's akin to the Xbox Series S getting a price cut in Japan while being charged full price in the US and Europe. Because Microsoft doesn't have a strong market share in Japan. And even though Nintendo's market share is "stronger" in the states than Microsoft is in Japan it is still divided among three major companies.

And they aren't going to adhere to a $90 price point because it's "fair" to early adopters, no matter how much you hope not to get hoodwinked in this entire situation.
