>>44995653When you read the (messy...) manga adaptation, it becomes more clear that it's probably supposed to be a conflict between tradition and technology/rationality. In the end a solution is found by uniting the two: you do follow Zinnia's plan, guided by Wallace to Sky Tower (both represent tradition/legends), but if you only followed 'tradition', you'd suicide in space even if you saved the world. So, you also decide to use technology (the Aqua/Magma suit, made by ex-Devon employee Shelly or Tabitha) to safely succeed in the mission. Meanwhile, Steven and Zinnia both fail their mission because they rely on technology only/on tradition only, respectively.
Pokespe also has some neat concepts with this arc, because of how the whole operation is coordinated from the space center with Steven commanding trainers from the whole world to blast attacks from earth to the meteor fragments in space, it's a really cool idea
