As for Castelia City, what was the point of skyscrapers that only let you visit three floors max? Hidden bases in Gen III are another good example, I feel like they could've made them into something more.

A step up from the 1 floor 2-3 houses of most towns.
Meanwhile, most nu-Pokemon towns omit both the houses in towns and make the rest backdrops.
XY is the last game to do it right.

I think XY Lumoise was what they wanted BW Castelia to be. I still think a skyscraper with 2/3 floors is just a disappointing house though.

It's cosmetic, the point is to make it look like a big city to enhance the role play aspect of the RPG you're playing

It would be a chore to have to actually go through hundreds of floors just to see everything

I think she would work better as a post-game boss like Platinum's Charon and BW's Sages. They even had looker already in post-game, he could've helped find her and the last remnants of Team Flare.

I'll take 3 floors opposed to the literal locked empty buildings in SWSH.

There were so many cool ideas for town's in swsh and they ruined it by having them be ghost towns with a handful of npc's that say nothing.

It was nice and had enough nooks and crannies to make it worth it even it the presentation for some of the skyscrapers was half baked. For pokemon standards, it might be the best of the beeg cities.

The entire franchise desu. It's a very cool concept but this franchise plays things super safe even by the low standards of kids media. At least Mario tries something new every few years
