It's USUM all over again but at least USUM actually had noticeable differences compared to SuMo. Gen 8 is like we were given SuMo and had to pay $30 for a USUM post-game DLC but they released USUM anyways and this USUM has exactly the same story as SuMo. They somehow managed to continue with their 3rd version bullshit while also incorporating DLC and doing all of this with much less effort than before.

It's written where they said they had changed company policy and were no longer adding the full Pokédex to their games son. That there's also 200-odd missing from the DLC, including all of the Sinnoh starters, the Sinnoh fossils and several Sinnoh-introduced com-mons as well as the Mythicals introduced in Gen IV an it's obvious their next effort's a new game and not more DLC for one that will be 18 months old by the time they start talking about new content arriving.

I'll spell it out for the autismos who don't quite understand what OP is saying. GF doesn't call this bundle the "definitive edition" is because they most likely have plans for more DLC down the line. We could be witnessing a flip in GF's release schedule for pokemon games.

After SWSH, there could be longer gaps between mainline games. The content filling those gaps would be dlc, in this scenario.

And let me spell it out to you gobshites who still hold out hope on getting your Illumise - they won't add more DLC to their current game, when they've bundled up what they have to sell this christmas (a lá third versions, like they equated the DLC to at the start of the year), they're clearly drawing a line under this game and moving onto their next release. The fact that the franchise has released a game a year for the last 6 years now is evidence they're launching something new next year (because Nintendo know more DLC won't help sell Switches).
You'd think after getting kicked in the head by reality for the last 10 months you lot would have wised up. Sadly, it just seems to have made you all stupider.

You say that as though I care about what's in the DLC. I didn't buy swsh, silly dyke. GF could easily release a third dlc, make a bunch of money, and then drop another mainline game at their leisure. What the fuck would you do about it? wait for a sale so they make a little less?

I think about it like this. the dlc sells at half the price of swsh but its much shorter. So, the margins on that must be phenomenal, selling 1/5 of a game for 1/2 the price. it only makes sense for them to test the waters and see what people will tolerate.
