ITT:We discuss what we would do in the Pokemon World

Would you try and become a gym leader? The new champion? Or settle down and get a job somewhere and travel on your free time?

I'd do a little training on the side though, gotta stay in shape. During the times I would have Pokemon battles, I'd work really hard at teaching my mentees how to evade, move quickly, use the moves they have to their maximum potential, and learn to fight on their own. I think learning how to use each move you have as creatively as possible is really important for any good fighter, you see that in real life, you need to be smart and somewhat unpredictable to actually perform well in any fight. Personally I don't believe Pokemon really need to be commanded to do stuff, they just need to be trained really well as you would a boxer or martial artist, once they internalize their training they don't need me telling them what to do, I'll cheer them on in back and not distract them. Last thing: I'm ma teach all of my Pokemon how to talk. Being able to communicate with one another would be super helpful for work, but even beyond that when it comes to training, friendships, and genuine bonds, the strongest ones you have will be with those you can actually sit down and talk with. Its not easy to train someone who you cannot understand, speaking to them helps them just as much as it helps me.

I dunno, while battling seems cool in theory and in a game format I think I’d actually feel bad forcing my pokemon to fight and stuff. I’d just catch my favorite mons and travel the world. Without battling though I’m not sure how I’d be able to afford to do it. I just want my bros Starmie and Glaceon.

I can agree with almost everything there, however, I don't think teaching the Pokémon to talk is necessary, much like people can have a stronger bond with their pets rather than anyone else, the same should apply to Pokémon. To each their own of course, particularly, I just think that seeing Pokémon talking would be as strange as seeing a dog talking (some Pokémon more than others).

If PokéSpe is anything to go by, Pokémon more often than not quite enjoy fighting. Of course it's case by case, but in the manga, White's Tepig abandon her because she wouldn't let her fight, so there's that. One could say that Pokémon battle is like (using dogs as example again) dogs playing with each other, sometimes it looks like they are trying to freaking kill each other, but it's not actually the case (one could also compare with humans irl fighting for sport, so there's also that).
With all that said tho, I would also avoid fighting.

I would essentially just travel around, like some sort of hermit, and since trainers would inevitable challenge me from time to time, I would use the reward money to buy whatever I needed, but would mostly just make secret bases here and there.

I would probably live in Unova and try and get a job as a library technician at the Nacrene Museum/Library. I'd probably catch a Munna as a starter mon since I love to sleep, smoke and day dream. It can also help me reach the top shelves of stuff with its psychic powers.

I dunno. Just living in the world would be cozy enough. I guess I would probably at least spend some time as a trainer. Could see myself winding up spending a lot of time at an electric gym since it's my favorite type and both Raichu are my favorite pokemon.

It'll be weird for us due to us not normally seeing talking things that aren't human, but I'd gladly teach them to talk to get used to it. They'd also be working with me and they need to be able to talk to people. To each of their own though, Its worth it imo, but as always to each their own.

Water is my favorite type but as I was younger I’d probably try and be a trainer of sorts, then eventually settle down to a coastal town and either set up a water gym if I was any good as a trainer and if not do like boat/Pokémon rides like me briny

Definitely travel the region in my youth, catching a wide variety of pokemon. I'd be on a non-stop journey until I was satisfied, occasionally fighting random trainers to make enough money to keep travelling comfortably. I'm not sure if I'd do the gym challenge or not, if I was going to pass through those towns anyway I might, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
For a long term job, I see myself as a bounty hunter of sorts. Rich people who are too lazy or busy to catch pokemon themselves could pay me to go and find them. Of course, there would be a premium for rare, foreign or shiny pokemon, so my shiny hunting experience would actually be useful here.

I would like to do police work in the Pokemon world. I think their forces are generally in great need for better help as evidenced by how they end up letting 10 year olds take down criminal organizations single-handedly. I'd collect my 6 favourites, try and track down some of the Mythicals like Mew, Jirachi, Hoopa and Arceus to both fight them and see if they will open a two-way portal back to our world, if not then I'll head to Alola and rummage around the remains of Rainbow Rocket bases to see if their tech could help.
While I'd like to explore the Pokemon World, I'd eventually like to come back, even if only to say goodbye or to invite some friends to come on an adventure with me.
