>>45005148Thanks for bringing that up, I forgot about it. The terminology used in some of the entries is a little vague, with
>Part of its body has become stone. Some scholars claim that this is Aerodactyl's true appearance.and
>The power of Mega Evolution has completely restored its genes. The rocks on its body are harder than diamond.seeming to claim that Mega Aerodactyl is the true form, while
>When it Mega Evolves, it becomes more vicious than ever before. Some say that's because its excess of power is causing it pain.and
>It will attack anything that moves. Mega Evolution is a burden on its body, so it's incredibly irritated.seem to imply that it is still a form brought forth from excess power and definitely isn't how Aerodactyl "should" be. However, I think this one provides a nice middle ground:
>Mega Evolution awakened some dormant genes, bringing back the sharp rocks that once covered Aerodactyl's entire body. With this, the genes being awakened/restored are dormant genes, rather than genes that were missing or weren't properly restored during the fossil restoration process. In addition to making more sense this also suggests that Pokemon change over time, losing or acquiring certain traits as they're necessary. Which is just a cool idea in general.
