I think it was back in 2012 when Moot was doing restructuring and almost killed /vp/ before coming by and talking to anons about whether or not the board should continue and what it needed.
Sometimes I wonder if we were right to stop him.

We really shouldn't have. Barely anyone is on this board anymore, I've seen singular /v/ Pokemon threads with more IPs than several of /vp/'s top posts combined before, literally barely anything would change if the board was deleted.

Yeah discussing pokemon on /v/ is way better generally, not just because the conversation is larger but also because people there are much more likely to have played more games, and so those who care to participate in a pokemon thread generally have much better informed opinions.

There's just no point to it when its beyond bumfuck slow and both /v/ and /vrpg/ can easily pick up all the non-coomers, hell, I'm sure a one or two /vg/ generals could accommodate everyone.

Hell even during leak season when this board is somewhat fast, /v/ ALSO discusses Pokemon leaks and news and has on par if not bigger threads than us. The original reason why they wanted a containment board is kind of null, really.

Yeah, this board was very active the first few years, Gen 5 and 6 were huge hypetrains.
The first noticeable slouch in board activity IIRC was after ORAS was released. Then I think around USUM is when the board settled into what it is now, with obviously huge spikes of activity around LGPE, the dexcut, etc. I stopped coming here that often around 2016

I like /vp/. It's fun and comfy. I don't like /v/, it's too fast and it's full of people who don't know what they're talking about. I prefer a nice slow discussion over an annoying fast one. /vp/ becomes fast too when there's new announcments anyway.
