It's not OP since its weak to the omnipresent ground moves but it combos really well with a select few types. The whole type chart needs to be redone

Because it makes sense in lore.
Honestly, giving it any weaknesses at all is kind of a stretch. I'm pretty sure any type would damage an animal made of metal less than a regular animal, but a type that resists literally everything would be ridiculously unbalanced.

The problem is steel types used to have shit movepools and stats but now they give everything le super epic coverage so steel has become super strong

Ground was super common even in gen 1because of its Electric / Thunder Wave immunity
Fighting is another really good type even without Steel existing, since it counters Nomral, Dark, Rock and Ice. It was only shit in gen 1 because it had hardly any moves and Psychic was OP.
Fire is useful for countering Grass and Bug types, and has Fairy resistance.

not that non, the arguments about Ground and Fighting are valid but literally the only reason people run fire is to cuck steel types, fire is completely useless garbage otherwise because nobody uses grass and bug unless they are braindead.
