from what i saw of somebody's mockup adding as much detail as roselia's makes the design a bit too busy so i can see why they simplified it, but they simplified it WAY too much

It was an attempt to stylize, it failed, and pokemon's strict adherence to continuity and no retcons means they can't fix it. Pokemon should go back and fix a bunch of simple mistakes like this.

The bouquet is where they put the Roselia-tier detail into: the head, with the vest and cape acting as the wrapping, and the light-green on its torso representing the exposed rose stems at the bottom of the bouquet. Besides the association of phantom thieves and roses, the caped look of a bouquet is also why Roselia became a phantom thief archtype.
Reducing the flowers on its hands to A patterns emphasis this, with the torso pattern and the half-closed eyes resembling and repeating this A pattern.

But yes, Roserade fanart with detailed hand bouquets is god-tier.
