>>45022490It gets a +1 to attack upon switching in and has 170 attack. Yes, Mega Fug has 180 and can hold a Life Orb, but with the +1 attack boost, Zacian will have an effective attack stat that's around 5-7% higher than a LO Mega Fug with the same attack investment. If Mega Fug wants to pump out more damage than Zacian, it needs to run a choice item.
Zacian is crazy fast at 148 base speed, making only Deoxys S A and N, Pheramosa and Mega Alakazam and Mega Aerodactyl the only Pokemon that could reasonably outspeed it without a scarf or boost. Zacian doesn't even need to run a Jolly nature to outrun most of the AG/Uber metagame.
It has a better typing, both offensively and defensively.
Zacian has 92/115/115 defenses to Mega Fug's 105/100/100 makin Zacian a bit bulkier, plus not having to deal with LO recoil while pumping out slightly more damage helps it survive hits a bit better too.
Mega Fug's only real advantages are priority in Extreme Speed and access to Dragon Dance. Both of them get Swords Dance but a +3 Zacian is also going to outrun nearly every non-scarfer it comes across, as the only Pokemon that can outrun it are not nearly as good in Ubers/AG. Zacian also gets Agility for setting up if it wants to go that route.
In metas where Dynamax is allowed, Behemoth Blade cleaves through them like butter, and even when not dynamaxed, a base 100 STAB move coming off a +1 Zacian is going to hurt. Zacian also tends to have better coverage between Behemoth Blade, Play Rough, Elemental Fangs, Wild Charge, Crunch and Close Combat. Mega Fug has a massive movepool, but it needs to run Dragon Ascent and typically only runs Dragon, Fire, Normal and Ground moves in addition to the mandatory Flying.
