Gardevoir wasn't made with the intent of being waifubait until the fans made it out to be one, it's literally named Sirnight in Japan and its on-model appearance is androgynous enough to be seen in either way.
Of course that all went out the fucking window with Gallade and got buried afterwards with Mega Gardevoir, but the initial fact still stands.
