Make him ghost/steel GF I get he's an overgrown haunted anchor but it doesn't make any sense to put him as a grass type WHEN HE'S MADE OF STEEL.

This. People always try to make Aggron better by removing its Rock typing, but those people don't realize that they're actually gimping the one thing that Aggron actually does well: STAB Head Smash with no recoil.
Anyway, here's my hypothetical types that would've made Gen 1 back in the day more varied:

The problem with Aggron is that 50 speed is trash. If it wass 70 Speed and Aggron learned Meteor Mash, we'd see something entirely different because the 70 Speed tier is a pretty decent speed tier for a wallbreaker

how does it only matter in Gen 3?
if this is some "if its not OU it's a shitmon" thing then that isn't going to work because Aggron is both UU in Gen 3 and in Gen 4, the latter of which being when Head Smash was introduced.
