The sprite was always green. Alternatively, it could be because unlike the others which are just anthropomorphic pants, Bellossom is more humanoid and is clearly modeled after a Hawaiian hula dancer. So they changed its skin color to avoid Jynx situation.

Better question, why is it a part of the Oddish line? It looks nothing like any of it's relatives and doesn't even share the poison type. It really deserved to get its own evolution line.
