Not OP, but people on /vp/ will complain about "shitmons" or "dex filler" in-game, and use some bad video game metaphor explaining why you're stupid for not optimizing and using the best Pokemon the game has to offer you. You know, despite the games being piss easy and allowing you to use basically anything save for maybe Luvdisc and a small handful of irredeemable others.

As the resident Luvdisc afficionado I will say that Luvdisc can beat story battles in all games as well.

That list is very outdated.
They use a new tiering system which ranks them from S (highest) to F (lowest). Seviper is in the D tier in the new list which makes it "average".

Nah, used it and carried my team in the 5th run through Deep Colosseum on my last playthrough since I was saving the good members for snagging shuckle, didn't plan on it but it was the shadow mon I was purifying at the time and it did pretty okay.

"Dex filler" isn't purely a criticism of a pokemon's strength. That's only a very small part of it. It's an overall criticism of its uniqueness, design, and the role it is supposed to play in the world.

Faggots trying to justify the dex cut with the "muh shitmon" argument. There is no reason to use competitive teams or move sets in the main game until you reach postgame, which doesn't even exist anymore. Pokemon should be about using the pokemon that you find in the region you're exploring, not just cramming 300 random catchable mons in a giant open field available before the first gym.

I don't hate Pokemon for being shit. I hate Game Freak for not trying to make or give every Pokemon at least something unique or fun to them. There are Pokemon that feel or come off as redundant.

A classic example is Fearow and Dodrio. Dodrio does literally the exact same niche Fearow does of glass canon normal Flying drill pecker but better.

I don't need every Pokemon to be top tier, but each should at least try to be unique and fun to use.
