So... why haven't they put gens 1-3 on the Switch eShop again?

I want to play Emerald and FireRed/LeafGreen without paying $100 for a GBA cart.

It'd take zero time and resources to port over probably and at the same time make both Gamefreak and Nintendo a buttload of money. Especially the GBA games.

Apparently there were hardware issues porting gba to 3ds so they didn't do it.

I got LeafGreen on my 3DS to work just fine. It said the save data was corrupted but worked just fine, saved and loaded properly.

This is where you're wrong. If it was that easy they would have done it. It's easy money. Clearly there's a problem with games from GBA and up being put on virtual console or connecting them to Home.
