If you don't like the Wild Area you're not gonna like the Isle of Armor, it's the same shit except better designed, but overall has the same gameplay loop of "revisit locations when the weather changes to find other Pokemons", the only thing it has that the base game doesn't have is Restricted Sparring, but battle facilities are boring

The Isle is an improved Wild Area with a short story split into a few missions. It works best if you do it in chunks over the course of a new playthrough, going to the Isle every few gyms, then returning to the mainland after you complete a mission.

The reason I don't like wild area is the design itself. It feels like a beta because there's little variety in biomes and terrain. Too empty.

Aesthetically, yes. So much better. It isn't a biome nightmare and the weather is a bit more consistent.
It's worse for grinding out the EXP candies and 4IV mons because the game loves the spawn the dens very far apart from each other and on Armour, there is no vantage point where you can see all the dens, unlike the regular wild area.

Not really. It does have slightly better biome separation, but it's largely the same thing. The only actual good thing is that it has a lot of QoL updates. Gigantimax Soup, Cram-o-Matic, an instant EV resetter, farmable mints, and an NPC who digs up watts in exchange for Armorite Ore which is way faster than checking dens and changing the date. For competitive players I'd say those features alone are worth the DLC price. Plus we're getting the Ability Patch in Crown Tundra.

As a heads up, you'll probably get Honey and Energy Powder most often but there's an island directly behind the water tower where there's 5 items that respawn daily and those items can sometimes be nature mints
Not as guaranteed as the Ditto island but still useful to check
