Before VGC was a thing (And let's face it, even if doubles is the competitive format, the games are always singles so it is the one most people is accostumed for), surely there was/is something the overseas side of the fandom does to have their own competitive scene, right?
Do Japanese players have their own Smogon/Showdown? How does it work? I have never heard about anything like that outside of small stuff like the few Nintendo Cups.
Haven't seen them playing online or anything.
