The "it's too easy" meme is only said by casual players and faggots who post playthroughs. It is not not a burden, at least in gens 1-7 (6&7 without xp share) to make your team have a lower level than the enemy pokemon for important battles. Only new players that take things too slowly, abuse grinding for certain evolutions, abuse rare candies, or just use the starter/legendary for almost every match, end up being overleveled. You aren't one of those right anon?
If you want to use ledian, other shitmons, or just a cool monotype team, then you train them slightly more just to be at a similar level than opposing pokemon, and the games are still fun. I understand that the AIs are still flawed, but when it comes to teambuilding, there's no incorrect team unless you go with shit that needs to be 10+ levels above foes in order to have a chance of winning
