Content wise they're okay, they doubled down on everything Emerald did instead of scrapping it. Give it to poketards' hilariously low standards that it's considered godlike when it just happens to be one of the most tolerable.

Depends on where you think the series peaked.
If you don't like Gen 5 (or onward) designs but like evolutions like Mismagius, the Battle Frontier, and some decently difficult boss fights (if you don't use Revive) then Platinum hits all the marks.
I prefer Platinum to HGSS because I like having a team that's fully evolved before the Elite Four, and because I'm a Nuzlocke player that doesn't like to see the same encounters too often, and where rare encounters are basically unobtainable. Very niche, but just my two cents.

I played it in emulator. At 1.5 speed, and wasa very good pokemon game. Somehow just improving DP faults makes a more much better game.

It’s probably the most balanced overall game. Smooth campaign, not too grindy with lots of stuff to do post game. Solid Pokémon selection (little more wouldn’t have hurt but that’s just me).
