Y'know, Gamefreak is trying hard to stay relevant in the current landscape. Digimon is going to absolutely CRUSH both Pokémon and YuGiOh's TCGs when it gets released in America and nobody plays anything released by Gamefreak anymore since Sinnoh games (don't even remember what their names are, think it's some clone of the gen 2 names). So they start to create these cringeworthy meme references to appeal to 4channel and Reddit users (the most memeist people on the internet). 'Cuz they know only their public well. I'm not even impressed by this whoring attitude, that's what you'd expect from a dying franchise.
