As for sales, it means Pokemon will never change and if anything it'll become even more mobile than it is already and even may implement gacha influences if they become greedy enough.
Nintendo doesn't give a shit so long as money is made and they can focus on the actual quality in-house IPs. Only another gaming studio could change Pokemon, if Game Freak decided they wanted a separate line for more mature players or one to try out radical ideas they wouldn't do in the mainline.
