The only people who say XY is bad fell for the meme. I've never seen someone say XY is bad without also giving an arm and leg to say Alola and Galar are somehow better in the same posts. They're either shills pushing it because GameFreak knows they can't top or go back and finish the plotline or they actually believe it's true when Alola/Galar removed everything good about Gen 6 and doubled down on the bad tenfold.
>B-but Gen 6 was the beginning of the end!Nope. Gen 6 was a turning point for the franchise. The troubled plot and Battle Frontier tease felt like slaps in the face but the games were actually enjoyable and replayable in comparison to SM/SWSH.
For anyone who was there it was a golden age. The moral of XY was kino and had the first orchestrated song with lyrics, online was seamless and made the game feel like an MMO, Pokemon Bank was an all in one transfer solution that made transfers easy as hell and was getting GO support soon enough, and things seemed to be going up. That's the problem, though. It didn't go up. SM/SWSH have some minor QOL improvements, but most if not all of them are half-assed replacements from shit that was removed from Gen 6. Hell, even the plotlines like Ultra Beasts/Eternatus being from space are literally ripped straight from XY's lore.
If any of you have doubts, there's no excuse to not play the golden age right now. The PSS is nowhere near as active as it used to be and yet it's still active enough to get into something faster than with SWSH stamps or in the time it takes you to teleport to Festival Plaza. Join a room on Citra if you must, there's no excuse.
