GF spent too little time and money developing it and the brand is too strong to fall short of the profitable sale range
But Pokemon games tend to have a shelf life, especially because the buyers that aren't exclusive pokemon fans tend to buy only one of the games per gen, maybe two if the second is a remake of an old game they liked
Everything on Switch has smashed previous series records on a smaller install base than the previous holders that were the Wii and the DS and Pokemon SwoShi, with TWO DLCs and no third versions and a pandemic that has boosted game purchases up for everything has sold only mildly above their regular standards
Unless they keep dropping DLCs for the game and extending its lifespan, the game will slow down considerably after this holiday season
It'll still end up at a high number, but when EVERYTHING else that is big has also reached ridiculous numbers on the hypest software seller that we've seen in a while it shows that SwoShi isn't wildly successful, it's just sold okay and you can be sure, that's not what Game Freak and Ishihara wanted
