I'd like to see Latin America, Southern/Southeast Asia, or the Middle east get used.

Historically those have all been hotbeds of major civiilizations and empires but they never get used in shit

Yeah, because they're on the Chinese investment teat. I doubt TPC is, so unless China wants to pay fat stacks of cash to be the next region in Pokemon, it's not happening. And doing so would be a massive PR blow to Pokemon, so those stacks better be extra fat.

most of starters since Gen1 has been based on mediums like kaijus monsters (Genwun), enterntainment (Gen 8), rpg classes (Gen 6), circus animals (Gen 7) and fucking mythology (Gen 4)

Maybe in the Pokemon world these are the major cultures/superpowers that matter, hnce why the multicultural American region featured a conglomeration of them.

I honestly doubt this theory to be true, but if the next 4 regions are Chinese or China & major surrounding areas it would seem to have legitimacy.

I would love China, but they would have to be very careful when making a villain for the story. China has a fair chance because there's usually lots of Japanese tourism in China (not now, obviously) and the games since SM have been localised into 2 forms of Chinese. Also, a Rui Shi line would be dope.

Korea could also happen for the same reasons

Australia would suck because you know GF would make it a ring of coastal cities around a huge empty desert.

A lot of people have been convinced for years, for some reason, that a Spain region is coming around the corner. That NPC near Stow-on-Side gave some credit to that theory but I think it's just a random reference they through in. There were loads of NPCs like that in Unova.
