The Pokemon distribution in nearly all of them is dogshit and HMs are tedious to use, so no. I’d actually argue they’re quite poorly designed.

Mt. Coronet and the snow routes say otherwise. Just the fact that Defog and Rock Climb exist is a testament to how awful this region is. No, confusing corridors aren't a good thing. Yes, ORAS was a huge improvement design-wise over RSE, even though it still didn't fix the water routes.

This will probably be shocking to hear since you guys likely didn't actually play the games, but HMs are optional on every route in the game except surf (and rock climb on route 226 but that whole route is optional).
