Transferring from cart to another cart takes a long time. You can't mass trade unless you're using a 3DS with PKSM (but in that scenario, why aren't you just using a pirated copy) On the flash cart, it's as easy as moving your save to the PC as >>45083783 said.

Mass trading should have been a thing since Gen 4.

This is me, honestly. I play each Pokemon game once, I enjoy the maingame, do a bit of postgame and that's it, I store it away forever. I've never ever played a Pokemon game twice.
