>>45092614I really don't know, I'm fully aware of how flawed and unfinished the games are, I do think that in several aspects they're laughably bad, but.. I still had a lot of fun. Dynamaxing when the gym leader only has a single Pokemon left even if it's unnecessary and overkill, the crowd cheering you, Camp, them some of the characters' dialogues being genuinely very entertaining, specially during the story with the Galar Bogs, and even before in the maingame as well, Piers most notably, but Opal/Bede/Leon and others too. How you slowly become more well known throughout the region and people cheer you on, the music during late battles having leitmotifs of previous themes making it feel like your adventure is coming full circle, I don't know man, all the little things like that made the game incredibly enjoyable for me, as autistic as it is. I like to think of SwSh as games with lots of little shining pieces of soul that are clearly there, except they're covered in tons of shit, and that's unfortunate.
I did emulate it, though, so my "theory", to call it something, is that since I didn't pay for it I could freely focus on the good stuff instead of going "Ughh I paid $60 for this crap?" and putting all my focus on the bad (which isn't a bad thing to do if you actually did pay for it, again, I'm aware how flawed these games are and don't think they're worth their price).
But yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun.
