Overworld encounters ruined the franchise for me. Now I'm not able to replay any of the games that came out before LGPE because of how inconvenient and boring random encounters are compared to overworld encounters.

I wouldn't say the overworld encounters ruined it for me, but the BOX no longer recquiring you to go to the Center and other small things did ruin it. Old games now handle so... unpleasurably.

Yeah, at first I thought I would hate this change because of casualization but actually playing the game all it does is save pointless time sink. Playing without it is hard.

The Pokedex "Suggestion" thing actualy raises encounter rates of whatever Pokemon it's suggesting at the moment, so I think Dexnav coming back one day is definitely possible since it's kiiind of similar.

not that anon, but I've never had this issue. dexnav finds the pokemon you select in one try 90% of the time, and if it fails you can just walk about 10-15 tiles in any direction and it'll work. do you just stand still spamming the search function when it tells you to look somewhere else?

So it's just random encounters except you have to fiddle with a shitty menu on the screen while you do it. Amazing compared to simply seeing the Pokemon in the game and walking into it.

I recall several instances during my playthrough when I had to leave and reload the area because all slots were taken by the 30-40% chance pokémon and the one I wanted was 5-10%. It's really, really not that different.

The ShitNav wouldn't even let you search for the Pokemon in the first place if you didn't already have it and refreshing a dozen of spawns in Swoosh takes seconds while the ShitNav only shows you one at a time if that.
