I want to like him but he's just... so bad. Very weak typing for a defensive Pokemon, a weak exclusive move, and the evo line in general is meh. I used it in my playthrough of X (was pretty decent) but in the grand scheme of things it's a huge disappointment. STAB Brick Break is pretty cool though ig.

Canon shiny should've been the default color, while the new shiny should've the canon normal color, but with a gold color on the shell and torso/legs.

It probably has the greatest disparity between design inspiration/basis and design execution of any starter. Glyptodont Chestnut Knight sounds awesome on paper but it turned out hideous. The limbs in particular look awful, and it doesn't help that Chesnaught's poses are so bland and stiff in game.

I've always been a big grass starter fan and it's easily the worst out of all of them. The color scheme is just too passive and doesn't work regardless of the meaning behind it, and its flat round head makes it look like the design's missing something.
