I used to live in this little neighborhood that had a small park in the very center, and there were rumors of a strange animal person that was said to prowl the park at night. People reported sightings of what appeared to be a person running on all fours like a wild animal, but moving faster than should be possible. Because I'm a night owl, I went out biking around town at night and ended up running into this animal person, confirming them to be real, and that they could animal-run so fast they outran me on my bike.
Neighborhood watch considered it nonsense, local neighbors thought it was a dangerous hoodlum, I discovered it was a young woman who had a weird exercise routine. I kept going back to the park at night, after chasing her around the park for some months, we became friends.
I ended up marrying her eventually.Never told neighborhood watch or anyone else in the area. Funnier to let people think werewolves or whatever might be real.
