Neutral. Golurk and Trevenant are among my top favorite Pokemon but they can't all be winners. Doesn't deserve the hate he gets, but I don't consider him a particularly stand-out designer either.

Amateur. Look at any Tumblr/Deviantart fakemon designer, same level of skill. All of the shapes and forms are incredibly unsatisfying, details often look "pasted on" and tacky, each design looks like he just thought of a random uninspired half-ass idea and didn't refine it at all.

The only one I don't like is Gmax Gengar. But that's because I dislike barebones ideas and concepts. Hellmouth is cool an all but, a doppelganger/literal shadow clone that looks more like clefable would have been a bit cooler for my taste. People liked it regardless so i guess it doesn't matter what I think. However Gmax Machamp is baddass af and hellmouth gengar is pretty ...meh. As analogues there isn't much balance there. Gengar has a multitude of genwunner fans. Missing another form to schill that wasn't merged with the ground (AGAIN) would have been a better move all around. Js

Bruxish is a necessary evil because sand is not natural to volcanic islands or coralline keys. So in these areas, most sand is either imported for commercial beaches, OR entirely created from a parrotfish shitting it out when it chews hard rock with algae growing on it, passing the rock as soft sand.

So yeah, hawaiian sand is basically parrotfish poop. They have incredible teeth and stomachs

"Finalized" in this case probably means he put the finishing touches on it. Someone else designed most of Bruxish, but people at Gamefreak didn't give it a pass until he did whatever he did to it when it was being workshopped.
To be quite honest I wouldn't warrant that as one of his own designs, but just a footnote paired with whomever actually designed it.

generally like most of his designs, his two gen 8 lines are some of the rare high points of swsh, and guzzlord being overdesigned is maybe more of an issue with how ubs were handled in general than anything

The thing is with his designs is that they all look like the belong to a different franchise. They're internally consistent, but at odds with the older style of how Pokemon looked and felt.

They'd do fine in their own game, but in Pokemon they feel out of place.
