This is definitely a hint. What will confirm if Gen 8 is truly over after CT is if the VGC format shifts to restricted mode allowing 2 box legends on every team because they do that at the end of every gen.

They're not moving onto a new Generation until they've finished shilling this one to death kid. There's more than just Game Freak involved and they all expect to have three years before needing to move onto making an entirely new set of merch to start over again with.

They won't put it ahead of a core remake though kid. Even the fact they can make one in under 18 months (LGPE's dev time was 17 months) feeds into that, it's not an issue getting one made in short order if needed.

Yeah, Game Freak are more likely to remake a core game, to share with their new players, than another LG entry. You keep forgetting their target audience is 6-13yo children and they already said they feel it's important sharing older memories with new young players. I mean, at some stage you're going to accept Game Freak are always going to do what sells and core remakes sell - to both oldfags and new.
