How many people here actually play VGC instead of shitposting about it? I've been getting into it. It's fun but I feel like you're missing something if you don't play in actual tournaments. Battles are so fast-paced that you can't really pick up any information about how your opponent plays and adapt accordingly. With tournaments you're playing best of 3 so you (and your opponent) are actually able to do that. This isn't a flaw per se because VGC rules were designed to get bo3 tournaments to run smoothly and not for online play, but it does make me wish Smogon would just switch to 6v6 doubles for their metas instead of fixing the sinking ship that's singles. A lot of expert players recommend tournaments for practice and streamers tend to fuck around with gimmick teams when playing online so I don't think it's just me.
