>>45146624> Gen 1A baseline for the series. Establishes that inanimate objects as well as stylized animals persist in the world. A decent start, but as all beginnings, doesn't land it square on.
Good Mons include:
Nidoking, Alakazam, Marowak, Gyrados, Snorlax
Stinky Mons include:
Voltorb, Magneton, Mr. Mime
> Gen 2A continuation on the formula, adding on pretty sweet evolutions to older mons, while having a few single stages that don't amount to much.
Good Mons:
Crobat, Ampharos, Heracross, Scizor, Tyranitar
Stinkies:
Qwilfish, Stantler, Almost all Baby Mons (Interesting idea, but acts as dex filler, unfortunately)
> Gen 3Is extremely stylized to fit a tropical aesthetic, with a good variety of designs to match. While as a bunch, the new mons are a good addition, some ended up falling behind in usefullness over the years. Less a visual design issue, but more of a game design one.
Good:
Ludicolo, Flygon, Aggron, Milotic
Stinky:
Solrock/Lunatone, Spinda, Swalot
> Gen 4A divicive one amongst fans for it's similarities to how Gen 2 handled additions. That being said, most of the new evolutions were welcome changes, and the new Pokemon that made it in were solid as well.
Good:
Toxicroak, Electivire, Luxray, Migmagius
Stinky:
Lickilicki, Bastiodon, Kricketune, Babies
> Gen 5Generation 5 is a little harder to really dissect, as there's such a wide variety of mons. I think that's a good thing, however, as even if you think a majority of the designs are bad, there's still something that's able to be loved. The dartboard approach works, in some regard.
Good:
Reuniclus, Darmanitan, Archeops, Chandelure
Stinky:
Stunfisk, Elemental Monkeys, Watchog, Kinklang
Cont. In a few.
