You really couldn't. Using Latias in UU was basically asking for AV Alolan Muk (which was on every team in gen 7) to come in and get a free kill with Pursuit. Ttar ruled the meta for several generations for the same reason/. Pair that up with Dark types being immune to Prankster, and you basically have the most OP type in the meta not named Fairy.

Yes, surely you couldn't use Latias in UU last gen. One of the top 3 or even 2 Pokemon of the whole meta couldn't really be used. Name a Pokemon that isn't Scizor that is more viable than Latias. Did you know Latios was the best Pokemon in gen 5 despite the abundance of Tyranitar? Did you know gen 7 OU was filled with all sorts of different Psychic types?
