I've never understood the absurd amount of mons in the game that can learn Grass Knot. Does its original name in Japanese imply something completely different? Because it makes literally 0 sense for most of the mons that can learn it to be able to.

I played BW2 and used Starmie and I learned it got Power Gem. Might as well just give it Earth Power or Sludge Wave already. Surprisingly, it lacks the near-obligatory Focus Blast most Psychics learn.

I would say that starmie's issues nowadays are less for coverage reasons and more because of just normal stat and ability based power creep.
100 spa doesn't hack it for offensive pressure.
