I'm pretty sure Serperior was designed to be more androgynous than feminine just like the character it's "connected" to who even thought themselves to be a man. Also notice how "connected" is literally used in quotes. Which it would imply it takes very loose inspiration from them not directly based on them. Even then, OP said feminine not androgynous.

They've been breaking that rule a bit lately though. The Popplio line are very poorly suited to land and Primarina is often shown with that nonsense floating, while Sobble bucked the trend in a different way by being an animal completely unrelated to water at all in the chameleon. Granted it does pick up some basilisk traits in its final evo, which are a little water-related, but you see what I mean.

Can we just have more monster starters? It honestly baffles me that GF continues and will continue to shill Charizard relentlessly while simultaneously making every starter gen more and more humanoid, it's like the reason for Zard's popularity eludes them completely and don't understand that people would rather have a cool looking dragon than Tony the Tiger's edgy brother or a rejected Pink Panther character as their starter.
